These drivers have a 4″ diaphragm and a 2″ exit, so they do need some help up top and expected crossover point is between kHz. I’m going to try different things with the enclosure that crosses with the compression driver. I pushed the compression driver to compgession limit and set a second order filter at Hz, that improved things greatly, but it seems like I need to improve upon the enclosure one of the ‘s sits in.

MiniDSP is notoriously known to be a noisy culprit and I suspect it’s no different here.

Had a look at the diaphragm and it’s probably the original back from compredsion as some markings on around the voice coil indicates. Night and day difference and was def worth it. The biggest issue is crossing the horn over at 1 kHz and having the 15″ play all the way up, hence why it would be nice to add something like the 10″ They are heavily damped and it works great for bass, but maybe not so much for the highs?

It works very well, but I think that between and may raise the bar even further. For crossovers, filters etc I will be using miniDSP 4×10 HD and amplification will be a mixture of the Anaview amps I have built and continue to build as well 246h other things I have sitting around.

Hope is that some of it may be avoided by crossing them over a little lower and compressin case is having to change the diaphragm into very expensive Beryllium or the more affordable and brand new TF from Trueextent.
